Jakarta, 12 January 2022 – L'Oréal Paris, the world's no.1 beauty brand, has once again reaffirmed its commitment to empower women in Indonesia, especially women entrepreneurs, to drive the economy in Indonesia. Based on data on the development of micro, small, medium and large enterprises, more than 60% of Indonesian MSMEs are managed by women, so the role of women cannot be underestimated. In collaboration with Stellar Women, a community that supports and connects empowered women, L'Oréal Paris has officially become the main partner of the Stellar Power Accelerator Program 2022 as a tangible form of support to provide inspirational classes, mentoring and assisting women in advancing their businesses.

In a survey titled "Advancing Women in Entrepreneurship" conducted by Google-Kantar in 2020, the participation rate of Indonesian women in the field of entrepreneurship is among the highest in Southeast Asia. The study found that 49% of women said they already had their own business, while 45% said they wanted to be an entrepreneur. 8 out of 10 women who are already or want to be entrepreneurs in Indonesia expressed their desire to improve their skills in running a business, such as business skills, money management, and digital skills. However, even though the participation rate of women in the field of entrepreneurship in Indonesia is the highest in Southeast Asia, they are still hampered by several stigmas and stereotypes to make their dreams come true.

Stellar Power Accelerator is the largest accelerator program in Indonesia that is held for women entrepreneurs, who so far have limited access to funding or other financial support. Stellar Power Accelerator provides the support, mentors, and access that women need to develop their businesses from sales, marketing, human resource management, and many other skills. For eight weeks, participants will get an in-depth learning experience through lecture sessions, mentorship groups, and discussions with fellow women entrepreneurs. In 2021, Stellar Women received more than 1,500 applications, and this year it is expected that this number will double.

There are at least three main programs that will be implemented within the period of January 18, 2022, to March 8, 2022, namely Stellar Power Accelerator, Mentorship, and Demo Day Classes.

Stellar Power Accelerator Class

The Stellar Power Accelerator class is a series of virtual classes where participants learn comprehensive business skills directly from the experts. Dozens of sessions will be held to provide an overview of the current business landscape as well as the business skills needed to thrive. Involving more than 45 experts as speakers, including Uma Hapsari (Founder of Amazara.id), Teresa Wibowo (CEO RupaRupa), Dinda Puspitasari (Illustrator), Prita Ghozie (CEO ZAP Finance), Lisa Widodo (COO Blibli), Najwa Shihab (Founder of Narration), Cinta Laura (L'Oréal Paris Spokesperson, Actress, Singer, Social Activist) and many more. This program can be followed by women from all cities in Indonesia. There is no need to worry about the schedule because the series of classes will be held every Tuesday night at 18.00 - 20.30 WIB, making it easier for those who have activities during the day.

Mentorship

A total of 300 selected participants will get a special opportunity to join the mentoring group. In this mentoring group, participants can share experiences and motivate each other with other women entrepreneurs. There are at least more than 20 womenpreneur mentors, who are ready to guide participants to develop their business properly. The mentorship program will be held in four sessions during the Stellar Power Accelerator 2022 Powered by L'Oréal Paris program.

Demo Day

Stellar Power Accelerator also provides financial support for women entrepreneurs through the Demo Day program. Participants who pass the business proposal curation stage have the opportunity to show their business innovations in front of the judges, who are experienced investors and business experts. Demo Day winners will get a total cash prize of IDR 50,000,000. Through this subprogram, it is hoped that Indonesian women can be more confident in developing their business visions that give a massive impact to the society.
