Are you sick of finding irrelevant tweets from whatsoever time ago, being shoved at your timeline because the algorithm decide that you might like the content?
If the answer is positive and you indeed miss the reversed chronological timeline, this is a good news for you. The tech company famous for its blue bird icon has updated it's setting to accommodate you.
Go into "Settings and privacy" then "Content preferences" and tick off "show the best tweets first" feature, voilà, a timeline with the latest tweets on reversed chronological order is back.
Why now Twitter?
2/ We’ve learned that when showing the best Tweets first, people find Twitter more relevant and useful. However, we've heard feedback from people who at times prefer to see the most recent Tweets.

The best-tweet-first timeline, launched at 2016, was aimed to boost users engagement and keep people stay in the platform, also to attract advertisers and help their stock price.
However with this algorithm, Twitter defining characteristic of real time content is not really real time anymore, because best-tweet doesn't equal chronological, thus the content might be not-so-up-to-date anymore by the time users saw it.
Last month, one Twitter user, Andy Baio under handle @waxpancake, finally got enough of the "any algorithm nonsense", as he puts it, that shows retweets, liked tweets, and so on, and tweeted out a URL that filtered those and show a reversed chronological timeline.
This ✨magical link✨ shows your Twitter timeline in true chronological order—without retweets, liked tweets, or any algorithm nonsense. (On mobile? Click “Latest.”) Enjoy! https://t.co/Q6h6pV20wV

Official handle @TwitterSupport has tweeted on Sep 18 that in the near future they will provide users with easier accessible way to switch between timeline that shows best and relevant tweet with the latest and real time one.
5/ Meanwhile, today we updated the “Show the best Tweets first” setting. When off, you’ll only see Tweets from people you follow in reverse chronological order. Previously when turned off, you’d also see “In case you missed it” and recommended Tweets from people you don’t follow.

Good for Twitter! Now, let's cross fingers for Instagram to follow this step, too!
