The first winning comes from Puspa Arumsari. She has won Indonesia’s first gold in pencak silat. Puspa took the gold after scoring the highest points of 467 in the women's single art category at Padepokan Pencak Silat Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), East Jakarta on Monday.

Breaking records
Indonesia broke its record for most total medals won at a single edition of the Asian Games when duo Yola Primadona and Hendy won the pencak silat men’s double event. The gold took Indonesia to the total of 52 medals, surpassing its record of 51 set in Jakarta in 1962. Indonesia ended the day with 64 total medals.
From 2010 onwards, the only other NOC to have won at least eight gold medals in a single sport on a single day at the Asian Games was China in shooting on 25 September 2014.
