The Current Refugee Crisis
The refugee crisis is an ongoing issue that continues to challenge the lives of many refugee communities.
With the lack of national legal frameworks, many of these refugees struggle to find proper work, and income. Despite having left their whole lives and families behind for a more promising future, the reality of the situation is far from promising. In reality, they are welcomed with discrimination, indifference and lack of access to opportunities.
Having to continue struggling in silence can be difficult for almost anyone. But having fled from war, violence, and conflict, these communities are often left feeling invisible as a result of living life in inequality.
Despite their struggles, many still continue to fight to have a better life in the future.
Art Box PHM
Art Box PHM was founded by a group of refugee artists in 2018 in hopes to create more opportunities for refugee artists of different cultural origins in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The main purpose of the organisation is to help refugee artists use their artistic skills as a way for them to earn income, exposure and networking opportunities.
In order to shed more light on the issue and to share more stories of the refugee communities, The People of Asia, along with Art Box PHM presents to you The Art Box Exhibition 2020.
The Art Box Exhibition is an art exhibition by displaced people, aiming to tell their stories to the world.
